Welcome to the Patient Mentor Institute website.

The Patient Mentor Institute was founded in 2002 to help improve the quality of life for people with chronic diseases by building on the experiences of people successfully living with the same chronic disease.  The Institute makes it possible for patients who have years of experience successfully managing their chronic condition to personally reach out, support and educate patients newly diagnosed with the same disease. 

PMI develops patient mentoring programs that apply a unique patient-to-patient and patient-to-professional approach to disease education.  Patient mentoring programs are proven to change behaviors and improve outcomes for people with chronic conditions.  These programs are utilized by pharmaceutical companies, employer groups, managed care organizations, hospitals and community public health agencies to meet their specific goals and objectives around marketing to, communicating with and educating patients and health care professionals.
